Wie een blik werpt op de historie van de Quattroporte ziet dat de auto er in het verleden drastisch anders heeft uitgezien. Met name de varianten uit de jaren ‘80 en ‘90 hebben een zeer vierkant voorkomen, terwijl de oudere Quattroportes juist wat sierlijker voor de dag kwamen. De meer recente generaties hebben dat sierlijke weer enigszins teruggekregen, wat goed is geweest voor de populariteit van het model. Wie zoekt naar een Maserati Quattroporte occasion, zal zien dat de zesde en zevende generatie het best vertegenwoordigd zijn.
Motoren Maserati Quattroporte
Een luxe Italiaanse sedan hoort een krachtige en luide motor te hebben. Maserati begreep – en begrijpt – dat maar al te goed en heeft de Quattroporte altijd uitgerust met een fraaie V6 of V8. Het vermogen van deze motoren is in de loop der jaren behoorlijk toegenomen: waar de vroege Maserati’s zo’n 250 pk leverden, zitten de topmodellen van nu op een heel dikke 530 pk. Echter, zoek je echt een topmodel met alles erop en eraan, dan zul je nog altijd flink de portemonnee moeten trekken. Een dikke Maserati komt nooit voor weinig en ook als je hem hebt, zul je er goed voor moeten zorgen.

Een occasion van Maserati is een speciale auto voor de liefhebber. Met name in de oudere modellen wil de techniek nog wel eens wat extra aandacht nodig hebben, wat betekent dat een matig onderhouden Maserati Quattroporte occasion regelmatig naar de garage kan.
